Estelle Casadesús elected Auditor of the Law Students’ Debating Society of Ireland 2024–2025

Estelle Casadesús, student on the Barrister–at–Law Degree course (Modular 2), was the higher ranked of the candidates and was deemed by the Returning Officer to be elected as Auditor.

On Estelle’s election, King’s Inns CEO and Under Treasurer Mary Griffin said:

‘’I would like to extend my congratulations to Estelle on her election and I look forward to working with her in the year ahead.

I would also like to extend my congratulations to the other candidates on their participation in the process and on a keenly contested election.’’ 

Estelle is now working on assembling a committee that will assist her in running a range of student activities throughout the academic and legal year, such as our annual Christmas Carol Service and the Student Ball. They will also play a key part in making sure our student body is informed with any student events throughout the year.

Estelle will deliver her Inaugural Address in 2025 to the student body, benchers, members, lecturers and invited guests.

About Estelle Casadesús

Estelle is a proud UCC graduate, attaining a bachelors degree in Law and French and graduating with a First–Class Honours in her International Human Rights Law and Public Policy Masters. Her research dissertation was subsequently published by the UCC School of Law. Estelle is a Modular 2 student of the Barrister–at–Law degree in the King’s Inns. Last year she was on the King’s Inns team in the ICC International Law Moot Court Competition team and a quarter–finalist in the Maidens’ Moot Competition along with being on the LSDSI Committee as Events Officer. Currently she works as a Judicial Assistant to a Circuit Court Judge and aims to practice in the field of Criminal Law in the future.

The Law Students’ Debating Society of Ireland (LSDSI) is a student–run body originally formed as a debating society in 1830. Over the years, it has evolved and now represents all facets of student life at King’s Inns.
