Caoimhe Gethings was the winner of the Walsh Moot 2024 held in the Four Courts

At the start of June, King’s Inns held the 2024 Brian Walsh Memorial Moot final in the Four Courts. King’s Inns students on the degree of Barrister–at–Law, Caoimhe Gethings (Mod 2), and Mary O’Rourke (Mod 1), participated in a fierce and compelling moot.

Many thanks to the mooting coordinators, Morgane Conaty BL and Gary Moloney BL, for organising it. Special thanks to the members of the Walsh family; Birmingham P, Cregan and Reynolds JJ for their time; and Sinéad Murphy BL for designing a topical and engaging problem.

The Walsh Moot

The Brian Walsh Memorial Moot is the major in–house mooting competition and it happens in memory of the late Mr Justice Brian Walsh, a judge of the Supreme Court and European Court of Human Rights.
