Norah O’Brien elected Auditor of the Law Students’ Debating Society of Ireland 2023–2024
On Monday, November 6, Norah O’Brien, student on the Barrister–at–Law Degree course (Modular), was the higher ranked of the two continuing candidates after the fourth count and was deemed by the Returning Officer to be elected as Auditor.
On Norah’s election, King’s Inns CEO and Under Treasurer Mary Griffin said:
‘’I would like to extend my congratulations to Norah on her election and I look forward to working with her in the year ahead.
I would also like to extend my congratulations to the other four candidates on their participation in the process and on a keenly contested election.’’
Norah is now working on assembling a committee that will assist her in running a range of student activities throughout the academic and legal year, such as our annual Christmas Carol Service, the Student Ball, and the Meet the Masters event. They will also play a key part in making sure our student body is informed with any student events throughout the year.
Norah will deliver her Inaugural Address in 2024 to the student body, benchers, members, lecturers and invited guests.
About Norah O’Brien
Norah O’Brien graduated from the University of Limerick in 2021 with a First Class Honours in Law and History.
Apart from studying at King’s Inns, she currently works as a Judicial Assistant to a Judge in the High Court, and aims to specialise in the future in Civil Litigation with a focus on Medical Negligence.
