Direct Provision Christmas Gift Appeal
King’s Inns are delighted to support a group of BL students who are collecting Christmas gifts for children and families in Dublin Direct Provision centres.
This campaign is run in conjunction with the Movement for Asylum Seekers in Ireland (MASI). All funds raised will be used to purchase gifts and vouchers for children and families living in Direct Provision.
MASI in conjunction with Phibsborough’s Bang Bang plan to bring children from DP centres in Athlone, Courtown, Tramore, Ballyhaunis, Monaghan, Carrick–on–Shannon, Killarney, Tralee, Balseskin, Charlestown and more to a special Christmas event in Bohemian Football Club on Saturday 14 December 2019. The children and their parents will be brought by coach to the event, where Bang Bang will deliver the gifts donated by the public.
The response has been amazing so far and it is really encouraging to see so many King’s Inns students, members, staff and the wider community getting involved.
How to Donate
They are looking for gift cards to the minimum value of €20.00. All gifts must be clearly marked ‘Direct Provision Collection‘ and handed in at the reception in the King’s Inns Library Building on Henrietta Street.
Donations can also be made online here.
The deadline for donations is before 5pm on Thursday 12 December 2019.
