Currently in its fourth decade, the Diploma is aimed primarily at people who do not hold a law degree but who would like to qualify as barristers. However, the Diploma also attracts students with a more general interest in the law or who wish to learn more about the law due to the nature of their current career.

“Student Life at King’s Inns extends beyond Classrooms and Textbooks” says Hugh McDowell
The community spirit that exists around King’s Inns is that student life extends beyond classrooms and textbooks. Activities such as dining and mooting provide an informal and friendly atmosphere in which students can mix with each other as well as with the wider legal community. In particular, the academic year 2014/2015 has provided students with fantastic opportunities to demonstrate their sporting prowess and enthusiasm.
The Diploma in Legal Studies course is a two–year course in which students take 14 substantive law subjects, covering each of the core areas of law essential to practise at the Bar. Currently in its fourth decade, the course is primarily aimed at people who do not hold a law degree but who would like to qualify as barristers; however, the course also attracts students with a more general interest in the law or who wish to learn more about the law due to the nature of their existing career.
